My first time...

Today is my first time wearing these cutie booties I snagged earlier this summer. They are sort of like ankle rain boots but with a little swagger? I got the stank eye from my friend, D.D'Agostino of Bethesda, MD, when I asked her in the store, "how do these look?" (insert stank eye look) then I shrugged and the only answer she could give was "you're the fashionista". That was enough for me to get these bad boys. They are SO comfortable.

It's rainy and yucky today; I paired my ankle booties with a black and baby blue striped 3/4 length sleeve top, a black tank underneath, skinny dark blue jeans, and some black socks, because today's the first day my feet have been COLD.

Get ready to see me to rock these now till next spring. Definitely a fave item right now; what skirt?

No Parking

Don’t get it twisted: this is not a repeat skirt day. Yesterday’s post was actually from last week’s closet inspiration. Today’s look was all about timing/scheduling. I was able to utilize my current fave piece of the moment (which could quite possibly be my summer’s pièce de résistance…) not only last week, but this week, that is timely fashion and taking advantage of the last few days of summer.

This time around, I went a bit more casual, still loving to layer with a purple tank under my rose colored flirty sleeve top. To add some edge, I slipped on my brown chunky and studded belt and my gold metallic bandeau top flip flips let me live easy (cus I’m that kind of girl …). If you haven’t met my bumble bee yellow bag yet, say hello… she’s been my bff all year…

Last few days of summer

While we experience the last few weeks of summer, I have been pulling out all the short sleeves and skirts and wearing them all...yes all because here I am wearing a cream colored skirt I haven't worn in AGES. It is an item in good shape and something I didn't throw into my annual yard sale. Since pulling this item from my dressing room I have worn it so many times the past few weeks! Yank out something old and give it new life with a trendy top; like this blue and white striped ruffle blouse. A soft woven belt adds pizzazz and a colorful orange purse will draw the attention in! What can you mix/match before the weather gets too cold?

While riding scrub in traffic on the way home from a weekend in The Woods, I amused myself by taking snaps of my feet. Hey, a girl has to be fabulous and entertained!

What with my runny nose and itchy eyes, caused by whatever makes my skin uneasy and my hives inflamed, I still survived all the outdoor activity only the woods would have to offer. Surprisingly, I have my hearing back: they were so plugged up from that hike up that sweaty,
nasty and horrible trail. (Mad props to Jenn Bunney and Goddess Athena for the many nudges to try something new. My appreciation will be known one day.)

As we inched closer to home, I was thrilled with what was accomplished over the weekend. Sun kissed from golfing, more enjoyment out of my new-but-never-really-worn gold
metallic-bandeau-bathing suit-top-looking flip flops. Plus, a drop of bright and bold on my toes (compliments of J.Lim; polish # 59). Whew, what a mouthful!

Mustard and Mayo

My mustard colored shirt gave me the idea that my outfit, which I wore going out over the weekend, was a sandwich with a little mustard & mayo with the shoes I paired it with. I wouldn't have paired the shoes with these navy skinny jeans either but Diva Dana and Tabbi-liscious, the hostess with the mostest in Columbus, OH, insisted I keep them on.

With such a comfortable attire on I said, OK! We sho' did show Columbus how DC rolls!

Re-run!

Remember my skirt of the week? I had to re-run it again. So comfortable and so easy to pair with a simple tee and my flat white t-straps. I had no problem deciding what to wear again. Colors: none; grey tee and white skirt w/ white sandals.

Dark Knight

After seeing the Dark Knight a second time in two weeks I had to take a moment to enjoy the evening as a whole. The IMAX experience of Dark Knight left me speechless and for a casual evening out with my sister and a few friends it was a perfect night. A perfect night that is to be in my skirt of the week! My outfit was comfy enough for the theater and to bear the humidity outside. Simple summer colors: purple tee, white wrap tie skirt & white sandals. Outside the Udvar-Hazy Center I took a moment to find my Batman; who will be coming home mañana.
